Three reasons we need the perfect sacrifice:

1) Exact Submission (vv. 1-7)

2) Entire Separation (vv. 8-11)

3) Eliminated Sin (vv. 12-20)

1) What principle did Nadab and Abihu violate (end of Verse 1)?


2) What implications does this principle have for our public/corporate worship?


3) Why were Aaron and his remaining sons not allowed to express their mourning?


4) Why were the priests not allowed to drink wine? Does this apply to us? Why or why not?


5) What is communicated by Aaron eating part of the sin/purification offering? Why did he not eat this particular one? How does this point us to Christ?

Five elements of the priesthood revealing who we are as priests to God:

1) Cleansed (vv. 1-6)

3) Consecrated (vv. 10-12, 30)

5) Consummated (vv. 31-36)


Questions:

1) What does this passage teach us about our baptism?


2) What does the clothing of the high priest represent and how does this apply to us?


3) What does the anointing of oil represent and what do we learn about the Christian life from it?


4) What do we learn about our sin from the need for the altar to have atonement made for it (Verse 15)?


5) Besides taking the penalty for our sin, what else does the sacrifice provide for us based on the sacrifice giving up its liver, two kidneys, and fat (Verse 16)?


6) Based on the ordination ram, what do we learn about the double benefit that Christ's sacrifice provides? Particularly, what do we learn from the blood being applied to the priests' right ear, right thumb, and right toe?
